Worship Arts Ministry Team Purpose Statement:

Our purpose is to point people to, and express our sincere delight in, Jesus Christ through spiritual reminding, refreshing and re-arming using culturally relevant and creative music, art and media.

SMCC is committed to bringing an authentic, Christ-centered worship experience each week in our main Worship Center. We believe– and find lasting joy– in praising the Living God, the loving Creator who cared about us long before we cared about Him.

And you know what? We love worshiping Him, and we love to play modern, solid, skillful music as part of our worship offering to Him.

To be clear, worship is not music. Worship is glorifying Jesus Christ through our thoughts and actions. As crazy as it sounds, helping an old lady across the street is an act of worship when done with an attitude of serving Christ (in this case, by loving another person through an act of kindness and service). So our worship service is really a time to come together and glorify the Lord. We do this not only through music, but through Christ-centered videos, Bible-based messages, etc.
